CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

We are pleased to announce that Cayley Physiotherapy

have re-opened our doors to treat patients in our clinic.

This is in line with the latest Government guidelines, The

Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), The Health Care

Professions Council and Physio First for private practice.

The guidance advocates that we take a ‘virtual first’ approach to appointments where we undertake risk assessments and screening tools via the telephone, ZOOM, Skype, Face Time or WhatsApp appointments to assess whether it is appropriate for you to be offered a face-to-face appointment.

Face-to-face appointments can be offered where:

  • There is a high suspicion of risk of deterioration from an underlying condition and that cannot be determined virtually.

  • You have an urgent rehabilitation need, which if not met will require care from your GP or hospital.

  • You require rehabilitation to support your rapid discharge from hospital services.

We will be implementing additional infection control measures, so patients can have face to face physiotherapy to help with their aches and pains, whilst still feeling safe and protected as much as possible.

Please see below the steps Cayley Physiotherapy are taking to ensure safety during your physiotherapy session in the clinic.

  • Your Physio will wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including disposable gloves, type IIR surgical masks, aprons, eyewear (as per CSP and government standards) with each patient and will wear it at all times during the physiotherapy session

  • We will advise patients to bring their own face mask where possible and wear it throughout the physiotherapy session

  • Your Physio will wash their hands with soap and water before, during and after each patient physiotherapy session and when appropriate

  • Your Physio will use hand sanitiser before, throughout and after the physiotherapy session

  • We will provide hand sanitiser for each patient that you will be required to use on entry and on exit of the Cayley Physiotherapy building

  • We strongly advise for patients to come to the physiotherapy session alone where possible

  • The waiting room will currently not be in use and therefore we request that you wait outside the Cayley Physiotherapy building or in your car, until your Physiotherapist calls you in for your appointment, which will then start straight away.

  • We will stagger our physiotherapy appointments to allow at least 15 minutes between each appointment to facilitate social distancing and to allow cleaning of the room and surfaces between each patient.

  • We will ask patients to use BACS and contactless card payments, rather than cash payments if possible

  • We will encourage patients to use tissues for sneezing and coughing and dispose of it accordingly

  • We advise patients to bring limited belongings with them to their appointment

  • We will undertake stringent cleaning and disinfecting of the treatment room between each patient session.  This will include objects and surfaces that are touched regularly, including door handles, door knocker and light switches, using the appropriate cleaning products and cleaning methods,

  • Cayley Physiotherapy will dispose of used PPE correctly and safely after each patient, in accordance with current CSP guidelines

If you have come into contact with anyone that has tested positive for Covid-19 then you should follow the government guidelines on self isolation. If you or anyone in your household have the following symptoms then please phone 111 and follow the government guidelines on self isolation:

  • A high temperature

  • A new, continuous cough

  • Loss or change of sense of smell or taste

If you are currently in an isolation period or are ‘shielding’ from Covid-19, then we will be unable to offer you a face-to face appointment, but we would be able to offer a ‘virtual appointment’ until your isolation period ends.

We may also have to use your contact information for the government's test, track and trace to identify any at risk patients that may have come into contact with a person who has tested positive for Covid-19

If you would like to book an appointment or require further information, please contact 07774 964580 or email info@cayleyphysio.com
